The Fourah Bay College Administration is seeking suitably qualified candidates to fill in the various positions mentioned bellow.
1. JOB TITLE: Medical Officer
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Medical Officer should be able to:
- Superintend the day to day operations of the college hospital in order to deliver a decent and reliable medical service to the college community;
- Manage the hospital’s human resource;
- Supervise the head of Sanitary/Environmental Health Unit, which is part of the hospital’s establishment, to ensure that the campus is at all times free of garbage, stray dogs, insects, rodents and other pests;
- Make requisitions for medical supplies for the hospital, including drugs, pesticides and making returns on their utilization to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Procurement Office;
- Ensure that all buildings on the main campus and staff quarters and their environment are free from any development that may be a threat to the health of staff and students;
- Submit periodic reports on the sanitary situation of the environment and the health of the college community and make recommendations for improvement;
- Undertake any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor or an appropriate Fourah Bay College or University of Sierra Leone authority.
OBJECTIVE
The efficient management and administration of the college hospital with a view of looking after the health of the college community, including students and staff as well as members of the families of the latter.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Preferably a good medical degree from a recognised university and must have served at least for five (5) years as a full-fledged Medical Officer in a credible institution/establishment.
CONTRACT DURATION: One (1) year with a possibility of renewal based on performance.

2. JOB TITLE: Estate Officer
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Estate Officer should be able to:
- Supervise small scale building construction on campus based on the availability of staff with the requisite skills;
- Be responsible for the protection of all college lands from encroachment;
- Maintain the local electricity on campus (low voltage etc.);
- Equip lecture rooms with furniture for lectures and examinations;
- Pump, treat and supply water to campus, students’ hostels and residences of lecturers;
- Generally, administer the units within the purview of the Estate Officer. The following are the units: Grounds and Gardens, Security Unit, Plants and Vehicles, Departmental Staff.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the said position is to make sure that Fourah Bay College is effectively managed in the area of maintenance problem.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
A relevant university degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with not less than ten (10) years’ experience.

3. JOB TITLE: Chief Security Officer
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Chief Security Officer should be able to:
- Build a strategic and comprehensive information security programme that defines, develops maintain and implements policies and processes that enables consistent, effective information security practices which minimises risk and ensures the integrity, confidentiality and availability of information that is owned, controlled and processed within the institution;
- Initiate, facilitate, and promote activities to foster information security awareness within the institution;
- Evaluate security trends, evolve treats, risks and vulnerabilities and apply tools to mitigate risk as necessary;
- Ensure that disaster recovery, risk management and access controls need of the facilities are addressed;
- Ensure that the institution complies with the administrative, technical and physical safeguard;
- Collaborate with the institution’s senior management to establish governance of security programmes;
- Serve in a leadership role for security compliance;
- Take the responsibility of initial and periodic information security risk assessment, mitigation and remediation;
- Serve as information security consultant to all departments for all data security related issues.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the said position is to make sure that Fourah Bay College Security issues are effectively managed.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
A retired Police or Military Officer is required, with training in how to manage security issues.

4. JOB TITLE: State Registered Nurse and Midwife
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time
JOB DISCRIPTION
The Nurse should be able to:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation;
- Deliver high-quality midwifery care, including antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal support;
- Monitor maternal and foetal wellbeing and responds to emergencies promptly;
- Educate and supports expectant mothers and families on prenatal care and childbirth preparation;
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care;
- Maintain accurate patients records and ensure compliance with healthcare regularities and standard.
OBJECTIVE
The State Registered Nurse/Midwife should assist in the efficient management and administration of the college hospital with a view of looking after the health of the college community, including students and staff as well as members of the families of the latter.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
The candidate should have a diploma in nursing and a certificate in Midwife (SCM) with 5 years of experience in post-basic study and 2-3 years of experience in midwifery post-basic
