👉🏾 INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW IN SIERRA LEONE
Law, Practice, and the Future of Trade and Investment

By
 Julius Nye Cuffie
 ABOUT THE BOOK

From music piracy to counterfeit seasonings, Sierra Leone’s creative and commercial industries are tangled in a web of intellectual property disputes. This groundbreaking book—the first of its kind by a Sierra Leonean author—examines real conflicts, from the “NACK” song battle between Therapist and Crips International to reality TV ownership feuds. It unpacks the nation’s post-2011 IP reforms, exposes legislative gaps, and explores corollary areas like consumer protection and procurement. Designed for artists, lawyers, inventors, and business owners, this work places IP on the pedestal of academic discourse it has long deserved. In an era of transformation, here is your roadmap to protecting ideas, trade, and livelihoods in Sierra Leone and beyond.

Since 2017, he has tutored Intellectual Property Law at Fourah Bay College. He is founder and CEO of the Intellectual Property Institute (SL) Ltd., Sierra Leone’s first IP think-tank, which provides pro bono legal clinics, court representation, and graduate internships in IP rights advocacy.
