University of Sierra Leone Celebrates Milestone Achievement in International
Ranking
The Administration of the University of Sierra Leone is delighted to announce a significant
milestone in the institution’s journey toward academic excellence. In the recently released
HE Higher Education Ranking 2026 Edition, the University has been ranked 470th out of
507 participating universities, a commendable achievement that reflects the University’s
growing reputation and commitment to quality education.
This accomplishment is attributed to the transformative leadership of the Vice Chancellor
Professor Aiah R Lebbie and his dedicated team. The Chancellor, PC Dr. Margaret Baio
Gbanie IV, has extended warm congratulations to the Vice Chancellor and all those whose
hard work and cooperation made this recognition possible.
In particular, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Aiah Lebbie, has commended the team
responsible for providing accurate and timely
data during the ranking process,
underscoring the importance of transparency
and institutional readiness.
