Introduction to Statistics (SCIT1601)

This 1-week course aims to provide specialist skills and knowledge which underlies the conduct of professional statistical work within a government context, monitoring and evaluation environment or research institutions. The course aims to strengthen professional statistical skills and knowledge. Many of the skills taught on the programme, such as survey methods and data analysis, are also in great demand by employers outside government and it is intended that the programme provide relevant training for professional positions in a wide range of organisations conducting large-scale statistical work.

Target Group: The course is designed for professional statisticians, monitoring and evaluation specialists and researchers in government or non-governmental organisations (NGOs), civil society organisations (CSOs) and/or the private sector who are normally engaged in statistical activities such as surveys and data analysis.
