Brig-Gen(Prof) Foday Sahr is a Medical Microbiologist by training with an interest in viral haemorrhagic fevers.
Before his appointment as Vice Chancellor &Principal, Prof Sahr was Surgeon General of the Joint Medical Unit in the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces and has collaborated with various Researchers and International Partners in Infectious Diseases Research. Prof Sahr has over 95 publications in local and international journals.

He has been lecturing Syntax and Foundation Studies in the Department of Language Studies since 2000. His research interests are Syntax, Sierra Leonean Languages and particularly the grammar of Fula and Krio.
