As we usher in the New Year, I extend warm greetings and best wishes to our students, staff, alumni, partners, and friends of the University of Sierra Leone.
The beginning of a new year provides an opportunity for reflection, renewal, and recommitment to our shared mission of teaching, research, and service to national development. I remain firmly optimistic that 2026 will be a year of meaningful change and progress for our university.
To our dear students, you remain the core of our academic enterprise. I assure you of the University’s continued commitment to improving the teaching and learning environment across all campuses. We will intensify efforts to strengthen academic delivery, infrastructure, student support services, and innovation, so that you are better equipped to excel academically and professionally. I encourage you to remain focused, disciplined, and hopeful as you pursue your educational aspirations.
To our lecturers and academic staff, I express sincere appreciation for your service and dedication. The coming year calls for renewed commitment to excellence in teaching, mentorship, research, and engagement. I particularly encourage you to intensify research activities and increase academic publications, as these remain critical to enhancing the University’s reputation, global visibility, and contribution to knowledge and policy development.
To our alumni, you are our enduring ambassadors and partners in progress. I call on you to actively support the University of Sierra Leone through mentorship, collaboration, and resource mobilisation. Your engagement and contributions are vital to sustaining the growth and transformation of your alma mater.
As we look ahead to 2026, I am confident that, through collective effort, shared responsibility, and strategic reforms, the University of Sierra Leone will experience positive change and renewed momentum. Together, we can build a stronger institution that responds effectively to national and global challenges.
I wish you all a peaceful, productive, and successful New Year.
Thank you, and may the New Year bring renewed hope and achievement for us all.
