The Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) successfully brought together educators and innovators from across the continent for a three-day Entrepreneurship and Management Curriculum Design Workshop, which concluded on February 10, 2026.
The workshop saw active participation from delegates representing five African nations: Sierra Leone, Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya. The primary goal of the gathering was to bolster entrepreneurship education by fostering cross-border collaboration and driving curriculum innovation.
Throughout the intensive program, participants focused on identifying critical gaps in practical skills training and explored methods to integrate experiential learning approaches into their teaching. The collaborative sessions yielded tangible results, including draft action plans for curriculum enhancement and solidified agreements for ongoing knowledge sharing and partnerships among the institutions involved.
A Welcome to Partners
In his welcome address, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of IPAM, Prof. Ezekiel Kalvin Duramany-Lakkoh, expressed the institution’s pride in hosting the event. “We are deeply honoured that our colleagues from across Africa and our partners from MIT chose IPAM as the home for this crucial dialogue,” he stated.
Prof. Duramany-Lakkoh highlighted IPAM’s standing as the largest college and the business hub of the University of Sierra Leone, emphasizing the critical role of such training in the college’s own future. “This workshop is not just an event; it is a strategic investment in our academic future. The insights gained here are immediately relevant to our curriculum development and review processes,” he remarked. He added, “We are not just revising syllabi; we are reimagining how to equip the next generation of African entrepreneurs, and I am enthusiastic about the partnerships we are forging here today.”
