IPAM and School of Postgraduate Studies Orient New Master’s Students
The Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), in collaboration with the School of Postgraduate Studies at the University of Sierra Leone, has successfully organized a two-day orientation for newly admitted postgraduate students for the 2025/2026 academic year. The event took place from October 16th to 17th, 2025.
Professor Ezekiel Lakkoh, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of IPAM, announced that a total of 1,300 students have been admitted into various master’s programmes across IPAM’s four faculties.
In his address, Professor Lakkoh stated that the orientation was designed to acquaint students with the administrative structures of IPAM, the School of Postgraduate Studies, and the University of Sierra Leone. He emphasized that the event was crucial for students to understand the key processes and procedures essential for their postgraduate journey.
The Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Frazer Williams, outlined the policies governing examinations, fee payments, and the necessary activities leading to the award of a master’s degree at the university.
The Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Aiah Lebbie, spoke on the importance of academic integrity. He strongly warned all students against any form of malpractice, including plagiarism, and urged them to abide by all the rules and regulations governing their conduct. Professor Lebbie also appealed to the students to remain committed throughout their studies.
Professor Lakkoh further informed the students about additional learning opportunities, including soft skills and microfinance programmes, which are part of the comprehensive academic package. He confirmed that lectures will commence on Monday, October 20th, 2025, and urged all students to pay their fees and complete their registration immediately. He noted that students must have paid at least 50% of their fees to be eligible to attend lectures.
The administration of IPAM and the School of Postgraduate Studies congratulates all the successful applicants admitted to programmes such as the MBA, MPA, MDA, MSc FA, and others.
