Faculty of Social Sciences

The Faculty of Social Sciences is now a stand-alone Faculty, following a University re-engineering Project in 2021, which saw the then Faculty of Social Sciences and Law split into three faculties.

 

This new Faculty now comprises three departments, namely: the Department of Political Sciences, the Department of Sociology and Social Work, and the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies.

The minimum requirement for admission into the faculty is five credits. Candidates must have a Grade C5 or better in English Language and a C6 in Mathematics ( for Political Science and Sociology). In addition, they must have at least 3 social science subjects with a minimum of 5/C6 e.g. Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Economics, etc.

For the Bachelor of Social Science in Social Work and Peace and Conflict Studies Same requirement as for the Bachelor of Social Sciences except that Mathematics is not a requirement.

 

For Diploma in Peace and Conflict Studies and Social Work, the entry requirements are 4 GCE ‘O’ Level/WASSCE credits including English Language with at least a grade5/C6.
