Communication and Media Studies (MPhil.)

This will be an independent analytical research degree. The duration of the programme will be 24 months. Candidates who have completed any of the Master’s programmes in the faculty will be exempt for the first twelve months which mostly cover taught courses. At the start of the second twelve months, candidates will present seminar papers on research methods, research and theories and undertake pre-field submission. Those without communication/journalism degrees will be required to offer taught courses in one of the Master’s programmes. Candidates will be required to complete 90 hours of course work.

Candidates with a good degree in Media, Journalism or Communication Studies, Public Relations and Marketing Communications, Development Communication or Mass Communication. Candidates without the required degree specified, but has relevant experience will be considered on a case by case basis.
