Broadcast Journalism (BA.)

Radio, Television & Video Production- essentially, the concentration in Radio, Television, and Video Production will train students to become producers with creative talents for combining visuals, sounds, colours, and images to produce content for radio and television using multimedia and digital technology. To be effective producers, and with an understanding of the aesthetic principles of radio, television, and videography, students will learn the techniques and concepts of electronic and multimedia media production and how to conceptualize, develop, design and produce various projects – newscasts, documentaries, features, movies, online media content.

A minimum of five credits at WASSCE C5 or better in English not more than two sittings. All applicants for the degree shall be required to take the Special Examination in English. The pass mark for the examination will be based on the university standards.

Applicants with the Diploma in Mass Communication from the University can be admitted only to BA 2 of the degree programmes in Broadcast Journalism if they score the required Cumulative Grade Point Average of the University and above and they would have met the university’s requirements for the degree.
