Job opportunity for course of study | |||||
Upon successful completion of the Diploma in Pharmacy course, the students are expected to undertake a one-year internship program, and then sit a Pre-registration examination. Once, they are successful in the Pre-registration examination, they would be registered as Pharmacy Technicians. | |||||
As Pharmacy Technicians, can occupy basic-level positions in community/retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, social and administrative pharmacy, and other medical settings. Hence, under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, the following roles can be performed by a Pharmacy Technician in both the public and private sectors, including non-governmental organization: | |||||

•Collect data for drug therapy monitoring activities | |||||
Medication Preparation | |||||
•Compound and reconstitute medications | |||||
•Perform mathematical calculations | |||||

•Fill and price patient prescriptions | |||||

Minimum requirements of entry | |||||
A minimum credit of C6 or better in five of the following subjects: English Language, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics/Further mathematics and Physics/Core Science (at WASSCE) in not more than two sittings OR an equivalent qualification. |
